My name is Maria Fernanda Castro and I am a fourth-year journalism student. I am from Bogotá, Colombia, and I have been living in the United States for the past eight years. Ever since I was a teenager, Spanish literature has served as a motivation for my literary pursuit and my career as a writer. Some of my favorite authors are Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Gioconda Belli, Julio Cortázar and Isabel Allende.
